I am an art hobbyist from the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.. I joined the deviantART community to learn and grow in skill, and, of course, to admire all of the artwork shared on the site.

Mass Effect fan art makes up the bulk of my gallery here on deviantART, but I'm beginning to work on original projects (finally), starting with a series of sculpted parrot ornaments listed for sale in my etsy shop.

Hey I was just curious, how do you put a skin on your journal? ^^;

Ohh... it's been a while. First of all you'll want to look for the journal skin of your choice, so just do a deviantart search of "journal skin" or "(insert theme here) journal skin" and look for what you like. Then there should be an option to add the journal skin to a journal skins collection of some sort. The layout here has changed since I made a journal last so I couldn't tell you where to look exactly.

Anyhow, after that's settled you should be able to make a journal and somewhere in the options/settings you select a different journal skin. It might be off to the side while you're writing up your journal.

Ooooh that sounds awesome :D It was really quiet here on Christmas and we had a really, really good day. :D It was a little bit boring, but I'll take quiet and boring over stressful or dramatastic, hahahaha XD

Happy holidays to you and yours!

I'm doing well. Yesterday I sent off a batch of ornament orders I had been working on all week and went to a Christmas party so I'm feeling like kicking back today, but there's a bit of housework to be done so I'm looking forward to taking care of that and then diving into a new book I picked up at the library. Ahhhh. Keeping busy makes me feel great!

I just started exploring my spirituality lately so that's very invigorating also. It'll give me a lot to think about while I do busywork.

How are your days treating you?

Housework never ends. XD I spend a fair amount of time each day washing dishes and cooking, which can be relaxing in of itself; it kinda gives me a sense of purpose especially when I know it's appreciated. (A couple days ago I had to mop the floors due to a bottle of soda exploding and spilling all over the place *snort*)

Funny you should mention spirituality cuz I've been kinda exploring mine lately as well. How's yours going? :D What's it like?

I've been doing AWESOME overall. I mean... I can honestly say that I have never been happier. XD I'm totally looking forward to the holidays and my family is getting along great. You'd almost think it was a completely different household compared to the way it was just a few months ago. >.>

And... it's also just a really good feeling, that I can enjoy a TV show or a game (even the internet itself) as a casual hobby these days instead of life-support, if that makes sense.

It's nice to hear your home life is going so smoothly. It's hard to have inner peace when your surroundings are all out of whack. I totally know what it's like, weathering the storm and trying to remain strong throughout it. When it's passed it's so great to be able to breathe easy again.

As far as spirituality goes I'm pretty much paving my own path. I've never been religious (I was baptized Catholic but it was mostly for family tradition rather than for actual faith) but I've always felt the need to be connected, spiritually, to something, and what that something was or is is what I'm exploring now. I'm looking into pantheism (I always felt some people call "it" God and others call it the universe, but it's all one in the same), so naturalistic pantheism seems to be for me, but I'm hesitant to use labels because I don't always like the presumptions that can be made when someone hears you're this or that or the other thing. So I'm doing research and asking myself questions such as, what is "the divine" to me, how do I relate to it and feel connected to it, and how can I live my life in a way that allows me to feel this connection (I'm thinking some sort of ritual that includes prayer/inner thought/recognition of what I find divine and incorporating a shrine where I can practice that can hold symbols of divinity and ideas that are important to me. It's all very exploratory as I'm asking myself these questions to really find out what I believe in my heart and how I feel connected to my spirit self.
