A drawing of what I think my PomChi, Chica, might look like if she were human.
When the light hits just right, she gets creepy red eyes.

I am an art hobbyist from the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.. I joined the deviantART community to learn and grow in skill, and, of course, to admire all of the artwork shared on the site.

Mass Effect fan art makes up the bulk of my gallery here on deviantART, but I'm beginning to work on original projects (finally), starting with a series of sculpted parrot ornaments listed for sale in my etsy shop.

Hi there  How are you? :D

I've been getting into crafting lately, especially since it's a nice and relaxing way to kill time as I continue to recover from the surgery. I've been trying hard to get a knitted blanket finished for my mother, though... I am never gonna do anything this big again once I'm done, because I had no idea it would take so long or take so much yarn. >.< (It's a worthwhile project, don't get me wrong, it's just.... so long and tedious. >.> )

Heya, I'm good! Sounds like you're doing pretty well, too.

Omg, you don't have to tell me twice about how long blankets take to make, lol. I crocheted one for my grandmother that took a year to complete (working on it off and on over the months) and I never got it to her because she passed away before I could finish it. I ended up giving it to my daughter instead. Now I'm making one for my son and it is also taking for-eh-ver. So yeah, I feel your pain, lol.

I've been busy, myself, lately. I started volunteering at the city's historical society museum, cataloging old photos on Thursdays; my kids are keeping me busy with their extracurricular activities; I help out with my husband's lodge events; I'm raising a clutch of parrot chicks; and in my spare time I'm making doll clothes and getting in a little gaming on Eve Online. I definitely like being busy. It used to be I had so much free time I'd get into these awful slumps of boredom and depression. I guess it also helps that I've started running again, but I think it's mostly that I haven't had the time to sit around and sink into the rut of feeling aimless. I'm turning 31 next week, and for the last year I've been wanting to turn myself around; I feel like it's finally starting to happen now that I'm being proactive. It feels really good. :)

Woooooow it really does sound like you've been busy. O_O I'd say that's a very good thing though, since a couple of my other friends have recently told me that extra activities keep them from sinking into depression and whatnot.

OMG about about the parrot chicks, I would love to see those! Can you post a picture sometime? :D

I think it's awesome that you're getting into a lot of new things. I still spend quite a bit of my time talking to people online (I call it my own personal "therapy", because sometimes talking about stuff in written form does help), I simply keep it restricted to private conversations in email or facebook chats, since I've learned the hard way that blabbing everything in public can do more harm than good, haha.

A couple days ago I finished making a half-knitted, half-felt turtle plush which I ended up giving to my mother. Actually, it was originally intended to be something completely different, but it ended up looking like a turtle. So I thought, "Eh why not? I'll just make a turtle." And that's that. >.>

I've found that I really enjoy alternating between activities, because then I don't get stuck in a rut and I can stay energized. Plus it prevents me from getting bored.

And I think sometimes.... I'm dangerous when I'm bored. I don't really mean to be, but they say that idle hands are the devil's workshop. There have been times in the past when I have been a borderline troll when I got bored and broody enough.... which is a habit that one should kick in the bud if they catch themselves doing it. ^^; Another thing I had to learn the hard way, lol

I have pics of the chicks on my facebook, if you go to albums they should be in the 2014 album. Those ones are actually from the last clutch, but they look the exact same, lol.

I know what you mean about alternating activities. After a while of so much of one thing it can get boring, so it's nice to have a few different projects going on to switch over to.

Ohh, they're going alright. I'm feeling a little out of whack today. I'm about to go eat lunch at a sushi joint so that should be good. Started running again this month - you might have seen my sports tracker updates on FB. I didn't do it yesterday so I'm thinking of running twice as long today, which isn't appealing at all, lol. I'm about to head out so I'll get back to you in an hour or so, but how're you?

I'm doing so much better. In fact... for the most part I'd say I'm basically back to normal. :D The shock has worn off at least and I've started going out again a little today. I just still need to take it easy because my body is still kind of recovering.

Heeeey how are you doing?

...I will admit I have been tempted to ask if maybe you might like to do a trade of some kind. :B I still need to think about whether I'd be able to do it though, hahaha
